A Word from the Consul

Dear Brothers and website visitors,

My name is Ross Ellis, and I am currently the Consul of the Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Sigma Chi.

It has been a profound privilege to serve this chapter, and I will continue to hold this responsibility with the utmost dedication. I credit much to Sigma Chi, and I only hope to continue the legacy that stems from being a Florida State Sig.

Though I will not over-exemplify our past accomplishments, during the past three years, our chapter hasn’t just grown — we’ve evolved into a driving leadership force within both the FSU Greek community and the university at large. We have cultivated a unique environment on our campus rooted in personal growth, leadership, and a unified brotherhood, all providing extensive opportunities for campus involvement and career advancement. In addition, since reinstatement, we have raised over $380,485 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation through Derby Days, while also raising over $310,000 for campus and community organizations local to Florida State.

But our past achievements are just the foundation. Today, and every day forward, alongside all 155 active undergraduate brothers, I am committed to elevating this chapter across our campus through the continued embodiment of the values we hold so dear. As we look to the future, our focus remains on deepening our campus involvement, cultivating foundational leadership and professional development, and maintaining the exceptional standard of philanthropy and lifelong brotherhood that defines Sigma Chi.

However, the legacy we’ve inherited and the future we are looking to build could never have been achieved by the active chapter members alone. The continuous time and effort of our housing corporation, national advisors, and alumni all over the country have played and continue to play a critical role in the advancement of Epsilon Zeta.

While it is clear our current project is no small feat, it presents a remarkable opportunity to make a transformative impact on our chapter and its future. We are not just building another fraternity house — we are building a foundation for generations of future leaders of Florida State.

Thank you for your unwavering belief in the Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Sigma Chi,

In Hoc,

Ross Ellis
